Rules for using the Internet

Students are expected to use the Internet responsibly and productively;

No offensive content may be sent over e-mails via the institution e-mail system

Do not plagiarise

Respect others' privacy. Do not quote or forward personal email without the original author's permission.

All Internet data that is composed, transmitted and/ or received by the organisation’s computer systems belong to the institution

Access to and use of the Internet is limited to work-related activities only

Work-related activities include research and educational tasks
-
Any software downloads or installations such as instant messaging technology are strictly prohibited.

Use appropriate language: don’t be rude or abusive

No personal use of the Internet or the institution’s electronic resources is allowed

If anyone fails comply with these rules, then the company will be forced to:

issue a fine, or
-
prohibit the offender from using the company’s resources, or
-
suspend, or in the worst case it can result in expulsion.
The enforcement of the rules

The company has the right to monitor all the sites visited by students as well as information composed, sent or received through its online connections;
-
The company has the right to monitor or block access to all sites and downloads that they consider to be harmful or counter-productive to business.
